Today I’m using some paper strips from scraps to create a really simple card. This is a card design that you can use when you don’t have much time but want it to look like you spent hours creating a card. It’s so easy!

The color inspiration is from Make the Cards Challenge.

First, go digging through that pile of cardstock scraps you’ve got. You know the one! Just make sure they are at least wide enough to cover the entire width of your card front at whatever angle you want.

Pick out a few different colors that you like together.

Cut each of the colors into strips. Now, you can either cut the strips into equal widths or random widths. For this particular card, I did equal widths of 1/4″. The best paper trimmer for this is a Tim Holtz Paper Trimmer. It just makes holding the paper down easy and if you want those tiny, itty-bitty thin strips then this is the trimmer you want to use.

I staggered the length of the strips and trimmed them from one end of the card. The strips are attached with glue to allow me time to wiggle the strips into place as needed.

I added some die cut letters for the sentiment and a few drops of clear glitter glue to finish off the card.
