Today I’m sharing my third card for the Altenew Education Certification Program. It’s all about clean and simple cards. What exactly is a clean and simple card? It’s a card that doesn’t require many products to create, a simple color pallet, and a clean design.

A Clean and Simple Card

I love the look of the Botanical Garden stamp set. Usually I watercolor these flowers and butterfly images however I thought these images would make an amazing clean and simple card too. The images have beautiful details to provide interest without being overwhelming.

I decided I really liked the tone-on-tone look of copper embossing powder on kraft cardstock. It gives that metal look and adds so much shine. The first thing I did was to prepare my paper with an anti-static powder tool. This keeps unwanted embossing powder sticking to places it shouldn’t stick.

Next, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp one of the flowers from the Botanical Garden set. I stamped the image in Versamark Ink on the right side of the cardstock panel. Then, I coated the image in copper colored embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool. I repeated the process with the butterfly image.

I also trimmed down the panel using a stitched rectangle frame to add simple texture to the edges of the panel. Then, I glued the panel to the center of a top folding A2 notecard.

For the sentiment, I stamped on white cardstock and embossed in the same copper embossing powder. I trimmed down the sentiment and popped it up on some foam tape on the left side of the panel.

Finally, I used a white colored pencil and filled in the flowers and butterfly.

I really love how this clean and simple card turned out. These cards are great to mass produce and perfect for last minute cards. I hope you enjoyed this card.
