Alcohol Marker Ink Smooshing
Hello! I’m almost done with Level 2 of the Altenew Education Certification Program. This class was Magical Marker Techniques and I loved this SUPER fun and easy technique. Now, y’all know I love my alcohol markers and coloring with them but I never thought to create an abstract background with them using ink smooshing.

Grab yourself a piece of acetate, some rubbing alcohol, and a few alcohol markers. I just scribbled the markers on the acetate and then sprayed it with some rubbing alcohol. Then I pressed my cardstock into the ink just like I would if I was ink smooshing.
Then I cleaned off my acetate and did it again to build up layers of colors. I did it in different places that needed more color.
Another technique in this class was to use your alcohol markers to create totally imperfect lines on your cards. I grabbed two rectangle dies and created borders by going around the inside with the bullet nib of my marker. Just look at those imperfect lines. It just added to the beauty of this card.
I finished off this quick card with a solid black embossed stamp and popped up a sentiment. But the card needed a little something more so I used those alcohol markers to color some white pearls!
I hope you give it try.
Jill, that’s a super artsy card. Looks fantastic!!
