Herd It’s Your Birthday!  Ha!  Get it?!  This made me giggle and I thought it would make a nice masculine card.  Taylored Expressions makes some pretty funny stamp sets.  Their Grump line is the best!

Herd It’s Your Birthday Card

First, I stamped all of my cows using my MISTI stamping tool with MFT Stamps Hybrid Black ink on Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock.  Taylored Expressions stamps are cling stamps so I take out the black pad.

After the cows were stamped, I used a piece of acetate to make sure the faces of the cows were straight.  It’s a simple trick and it can be a piece of packaging or even the cover from a stamp set.  Just place the acetate over the image and stamp like you normally would.  This allows you to reposition the stamp as needed before committing to stamping an image.  When you’re done, simply wipe off the acetate.

The Copics used for the cows were W0, W1, W3, W5, and W7.  I put some rosy cheeks and tongues with an R marker.  I used the matching die to cut out my image.  Then moved on to my grass.  I used My Favorite Things Die-namics Grassy Hills border die to cut some grass out of green cardstock and inked the edge with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.  Then, I add the Darice fence die and cut a fence with Neenah 80# Solar White.

Lastly, I used the My Favorite Things Lots of Dots Background and My Favorite Things Ink in Latte on the background panel.  Two-Way Zig Glue Pen works great to adhere small dies like the fence to the background panel.

And I used foam tape cut into strips on the back of the grassy border to adhere it to the background panel.  Then, I added foam tape on the back of my cows to pop them up from the fence.

The sentiment, Herd it’s your birthday, is from the same Taylored Expression stamp set as the cows.  I stamped it in Versamark ink then white embossing powder.  I used a Stampin’ Up! die set “Word Bubbles” to cut out my sentiment.  The white gel pen added just the right finishing touch around the sentiment.  The final touch was popping it up at an angle.
