Today we’re talking about Copic coloring. I have a few tips for you and a simple card for you to enjoy.

Watch the video below to see how I colored this digital stamp using Copic markers. All of the products used are linked at the bottom.

I used at least 4 different markers for each color but if you don’t have that many, that’s okay. Use layers of color to create the depth.

The paper you use makes a huge difference in how well your colors blend. I’m coloring on Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock. Any heavier cardstock and it will be too difficult to blend and it will soak up more ink. There’s marker paper out there of course but those are a little too thin for my liking. Try different papers to see which one you like.

Also, don’t over blend your colors. You’ll end up removing the darker colors and running the real possibility of your colors bleeding outside of the lines. Especially when using reds.

My biggest tip for coloring is to STOP COMPARING YOUR COLORING TO SOMEONE ELSES! Learn from others but the only comparison you should do is to the last thing you colored. I’ll say it one more time. STOP COMPARING YOUR COLORING TO SOMEONE ELSES! I know when I started coloring I compared my Copic coloring to someone that had been coloring for years. Why would I expect my first few attempts to look like an experts? That’s unrealistic.
