Hope in the Darkness – CTD #644
Good day! I was selected as the Featured Stamper on the Color Throwdown Challenge and asked to join the Design Team for this week’s challenge.
All of the products used in this card are listed at the bottom of this post.
I was slightly stumped when I first saw the colors. But then I remembered a conversation I’d had with a friend earlier in the day. We were talking about being in emotional dark places and how finding the light is so important. I even quoted Harry Potter at some point in the conversation I think.
The colors and the sentiment of light in the dark just fit perfectly together. Let’s check out how to create this card.
First, I ink blended a background of clouds using a cloud edge stencil using blending brushes and grey ink. Then I die cut it with a frame die. I mounted the die cut panel on black cardstock.
The black and white rainbow is die cut from several different pattern papers. I kept the extra pieces with the die to make more rainbows in the future. The outline of the rainbow is from white cardstock. I glued all of the pieces to a piece of typing paper and then trimmed it out.
The sunshine is from a purchased SVG file. I sprayed the top layer of the sun with Glimmer Mist. It’s super sparkly. I popped up the sun with some foam tape.
The sentiment is stamped in coordinating ink to the sun and popped up too.
That’s it! Such a simple little card and so much fun!

Very nice card. I really like that quote and the abstract look of your design.
Thank you Ida! 🙂
