Mixing Different Brands to Create a Card
Hello! Today I’m sharing some tips on mixing different brands of stamps and dies to create a card. There are few things to keep in mind so you have the best card possible. I’m using stamps from Lawn Fawn and a die set from Spellbinders. And these two work beautifully together.
Mixing Different Brands to Create a Card
There are a few things to keep in mind when you want to combine stamps and dies from different companies. Think about it. All of the various stamp and die companies have very different looks.
The entire Lawn Fawn line has a cohesive look. All of the stamps and dies are designed to work together from the size of the stamps to the design of the dies.
First, make sure the size of the stamps and dies work together. You don’t want to have an overly large stamp and super small die. In the case of the mushroom and fairies, they work together because the overly large mushroom makes the fairies look tiny which is what I wanted.
Also, make sure the feel and design of the stamps compliment each other. For example, Lawn Fawn stamps wouldn’t compliment Deep Red Rubber Stamps. One is a simple line art stamp while the other is really detailed. They wouldn’t look good together at all.
Finally, make sure the theme of the stamps work well together. I know this seems obvious however it doesn’t make sense to use a Halloween stamp on a Christmas card. 🙂
I hope this encourages you into mixing different brands of stamps and dies to create a card.
