Tiny Valentines with Non-Valentine Stamps
Good Morning! We’re making tiny Valentine cards with non-Valentine themed stamps. Do you have folks that you’d like to show that you’re thinking about them without being pink and sappy? Maybe your team at work, book club, sewing circle, fellow card makers, teachers, or just about anyone in your circle of friends. These are the perfect solution.
Tiny Valentines
These adorable cards are similar to those tiny little Valentines you probably handed out when you were a kid. These measure 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. They don’t require an envelope because there’s a plain, heavy-weight, white cardstock panel on the back that I added “to” and “from”. Just like in school! Of course you can add a personalized message and pop it in a little notecard envelope and mail it out if you wanted to.
Notice the design of each of these cards is the same. This way if you wanted to create more than one of each it would be really simple to do.
First, stamp your images in Copic safe ink. I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. Then, I colored each of the images and kept it simple.
Next, using my Silhouette Cameo and PixScan mat I cut out each image with a border. This makes each image look like it’s been die cut and I totally love this feature of my Silhouette. I also, offset the image a second time to create a second layer behind my die cut image. Then I was able to cut three of the offset, stack it up and color it to match my images perfectly.
I gathered some patterned papers and trimmed the pieces to 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. The white panel is a 1/4″ smaller all the way around.
Each sentiment is heat embossed at the top of the white panel. I used different colors but use whatever you have on hand. Don’t have the colored embossing powder? Use dye ink, Versamark ink, and clear embossing powder.
Once, I stacked the image and the shadow and stamped the sentiment, I glued everything together. Then I glued the heavy-weight panel to the back and stamped “to” and “from”.
I hope you give these tiny Valentine cards a try and spread some kindness around!
