Spellbinders April release is here! And there four different solid Glimmer Foiling Plates in this release: a rectangle, square, circle, and oval. All are the perfect size for creating cards or scrapbook pages.

Today I’m using the Circle Glimmer Plate to create a large gold background for my monotone floral arrangement. All of the products used are linked below.

When I’m working on a floral spray like this one, I like to die cut a bunch of the flowers and leaves. I can have extras leftover and just pop them in the pocket with the die to use on a different project.

Next, I foiled my background. You might be asking, “How did you get the circle foiled exactly where you wanted it?” I placed the foiling plate where I wanted it on my cardstock panel and taped one side of it with washi tape. Then I opened it like a book and slide the foil between the panel and the plate. I added a piece of tape to the edge of the foil and another side of the plate to keep it from slipping when I placed on the heating plate.

With these large surface foiling plates I do recommend allowing them to sit on the heating plate just a moment longer to make sure the entire surface is up to temperature before you run it through the die cutting machines.

Next, I used two pieces of typing paper to create a mask and inked in the blue band on either side of the foiled circle. I left the circle exposed because it’s foiled the ink will wipe off easily.

Playing with the placement of the flowers and leaves takes me a little while. I like to tuck things under each other and add different flowers together.

Finally, I added some jewels and a foiled sentiment to complete this beautiful card.
