Maker Forte Design Team and Copic Coloring
Happy Wednesday! I’m so excited to announce that I’m on the Maker Forte Design Team. What’s Maker Forte? It’s a new company from Alexandra Stapleton that brought you the Hedgehog Hollow Subscription box. There’s an entirely new line of amazing products. Here’s my first card for the design team.
I’m Copic coloring Christmas cookies.
First, I stamped the cookie letters using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Then I colored the cookie part in various shades of brown. I colored the edges darker than the top. I also varied the brown on the top part of the plain cookie.
Next, I colored the icing in red, green, and white. Don’t forget that white needs shadow and color too.
I colored the outside edge and the lines between color darker. This gives it the appearance of being more curved like the real shiny icing on cookies.
Once, I finished coloring the cookies I fussy cut each of the images out. Yes, I fussy cut images. I know it’s totally shocking.
Then, I stamped the background using the other images from the stamp set. I left that black and white so it didn’t compete with the letter cookies I just Copic colored.
I added clear glitter brush marker to each of the letters and Glossy Accents. That Glossy Accents really set off the cookies to look like icing on the cookies.
To finish off this card, I added some twine wrapped around the card panel. I used foam tape behind the panel so that it didn’t cause a hump.
