I try to participate in card challenges throughout the month. The challenge could be a color scheme or a layout/sketch. The Color Throwdown Challenge presents the creator with three colors to use in conjunction with black, white, and other neutral colors. Now the best thing about these kinds of challenges is it gets you to think outside the box for card creation. It might get you to use a product in a different way or use bold colors.

Today’s inspiration comes from the Color Throwdown Challenge #474: ivory, grey, and black.  I picked the Sweet Little Something stamp set by Stampin’ Up! It has the most adorable bunny in it.  It actually looks FUZZY!!!!  I created a masculine card (okay a semi-masculine) with the bunny.  Most of the products used in this card are from Stampin’ Up!

Hip Hop Hooray! Color Throwdown Challenge 474

I used Smokey Slate, Basic Grey, and Black ink as well as paper.  The bunny is a three-step stamp.  The Basic Grey is a little dark for the midtone so I stamped it off once then stamped my image.  I used Very Vanilla cardstock as my base.

All of the ovals are diecut inlays using the Ovals Framelits (retired now but the Layering Oval Framelits will work just as well).  It gives the card a little extra something without taking away from the FUZZY bunny.

The bunny is covered by Clear Wink of Stella to give him (yes the bunny is a ‘him’) a little extra something.  I used the Bunch of Banner Framelits Dies to diecut the sentiment.  I popped the sentiment up on some foam tape.

To finish off the card I used some of the colored dots that Stampin’ Up! sold several years ago.  I used those instead of something like Nuvo drops.  I liked the flat look of them instead of something shiny or with a rounded top.

Yay!!  I did my first voice over and it was rather thrilling.

Most all of the products I used for this card are from Stampin’ Up!  Stampin’ Up! is sold through Independent Consultants.
