I arranged my scene in Silhouette Studio and printed my scene on Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock. I print on an older model Canon, wide format printer. And I use generic ink cartridges because…well I’m cheap sometimes.

TIP: Remember, don’t use a laser printer for your digital images because the alcohol in the markers can break down the toner and mess up the nibs of you markers.

I color skin tone first in just about everything I color. No idea why, but I do. I used my standard skin tones for her but for the little dude, I did a little different so he looks really tan. I used V15 for my shadows. Yes, you read that correctly. I used purple as the underneath color. It works really well!

I wanted to enjoy coloring this so I just colored and didn’t think about a light source. This card front has so much going on that I didn’t want to take away from all of the little details by adding more complex shading in areas. Of course you could add light coming from the lamp if you wanted. That would be really awesome.
