I wanted to put together a card today using red, white, and blue but with cardstock layers. I haven’t used cardstock layering in a LOOOOONG time! And I saw it on a card the other day and really liked the look of how the black around the bold colors really made the layers pop.

I used the a polka dot Turnabout stamp to create the red and white background. The blue and white check is a really old paper I had and it is tissue paper thin so I added it to a piece of lightweight white cardstock to give it some weight.

One thing I learned in doing this…I need to relearn how to do matting again.

The products I used are linked below. I tried to find something similar for the blue and white checked patterned paper.
