Ink Blended Encouragement Card
Hello! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations with my first project of the new year and I’m so thrilled with this new kit from The Hedgehog Hollow!! All of the images in this new kit are amazing. I decided to go with bold colors for this card.
Here is the video for this card and don’t forget the links to all of the products used are at the bottom of this post.
For the background on this card encouragement card, I ink blended cloud edges from the bottom to the top. I used Distressed Ink in Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick.
I smooshed the ink pad on a media mat and then picked up the color with a blending brush. I inked along a cloud edge stencil making sure the line was really dark. Then, I blended the color out on both sides of the cloud edge line. I alternated the colors, inking from the bottom edge of the card panel to the top. I blended back and forth between the two colors. (Next time I will use a larger blending brush than I did with this card.)
Next, I splattered Perfect Pearls in the color Perfect Pearls over the background. I use Perfect Pearls so much that I have it in a spray bottle but you can mix a little of the powder with water on a stamping block and flick it too. I set the panel aside to dry. You’ll want to make sure the panel is 100% dry before you heat emboss the sentiment. If the panel isn’t dry, it’ll be a big mess! Trust me. I’ve done it before. Oops!
I stamped the moon image and the hanging part in black Copic friendly ink. I die cut the image with my Silhouette Cameo 3 and a PixScan mat. I used some washi tape to put the image back into the panel just because it’s easier to color that way. I used BG09, BG07, BG05, V25, RV14, and BV17. I left the center image of the stamp white and filled it in with a clear glitter brush marker.
I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder. Don’t forget to use the antistatic powder tool and definitely make sure the panel is dry first!
Lastly, I popped up the image using foam tape and added some clear moonstones (or dewdrops or ice drops). That’s it. I hope you enjoyed this bold card and create one yourself with this month’s kit from The Hedgehog Hollow!
