Foil Quill Designs
I have totally fallen in love with my Foil Quill! Foil Quill designs are a little different from regular cut file designs no matter the machine and software you’re using. The difference is Foil Quill designs are single line designs. This becomes a little tricky when you’re looking at fonts and other designs you purchase in an SVG format.

Foil Quill Designs
I have five cards to share with the Foil Quill designs. The list of materials used is linked at the bottom of this post so you can just click and find what you need. There’s also a video linked below.
Don’t forget that you must use Heat transfer foil. DecoFoil will not work for this.
Let’s start with the Balloon Design
Balloons work for so many kinds of cards. I picked the obvious choice here and went with a birthday card. I used the Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn. Then I added a few sequins and a drop of sparkly Nuvo drops to the center of each. It’s a super simple but cute card.
Frame Design
Now, the boarder Foil Quill design can be used as an elegant accent to any card. I hand cut around the edge for a more dramatic impact for this card. I kept the color palette simple with purple and white. Watch the video to see how I overcome a card making-issue. I always like to finish what I start and cards are no exception to that.
Chevron Background Design
The tone-on-tone of this chevron background adds a simple touch of elegance. It’s so simple but adds so much depth to the card. And let’s face it, it’s shiny! I kept the shine going with the silver (with glitter) embossing powder. I fussy cut the heart and arrow parts out and popped each piece up with some foam tape.
Feather Design
You know there’s something about a feather that just says light-hearted. This is amazing as a stand-alone element as I created in the card example or multiple the feather across the entire background. The only thing I’d do differently about this card is to change the cardstock color. HAHAHA!
Triangle Design
Okay so this card is a little artsy for me but I still love it! You can’t see it in the photos but there’s a ton of glitter on the buildings. It’s so pretty in person and the triangles represent how connected we are to each other. It was just something that just spoke to me.
Don’t forget to check out the video below to each of these cards being created.
