You Make My Heart Flutter Card
Who does love brightly colored butterflies?! Thrown in some glitter and you’ve got yourself one happy card! You Make My Heart Flutter is a great accompaniment to the butterflies. In the creation of this card, I was stretching my creative legs in coming up with my own card design and stepping outside of my comfort zone of simple cards. For me, this card was a little more complex than I usually make.

You Make My Heart Flutter Card
First, I stamped each of the butterflies on Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock. The butterflies are multiple layers so I used Altenew inks in pinks, greens, and blues. Altenew inks are amazing for layered images. Each color has four different shades. So pretty!! I used the coordinating dies to cut out each of the butterflies.
Then, I used my antistatic tool on black cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink. I poured silver embossing powder over the stamped image and used a heat tool to melt the embossing powder until nice and smooth.
Next, I made my own silver, glitter hearts. I die cut various sizes of hearts from Neenah Solar White cardstock. Each heart was coated with tape runner and dipped in silver glitter. I put Glossy Accents over each of the hearts to keep the glitter contained and add some dimension. Be sure to let them dry completely before handling them.
Finally, I cut down strips of bright blue, silver, and black cardstock. The card needed a little pattern to it so I found a tone-on-tone dotted pattern I really liked and trimmed it down to fit on the left side of the card. I adhered the strips and the patterned paper to the card base. Then, I added the black sentiment strip. The butterflies were popped up using foam tape and the hearts adhered flat down to the card.
