This is my first time participating in a card challenge blog.  What is a card challenge blog?  The challenge could be a color scheme or a layout, sketch, or a theme. The Color Throwdown Challenge presents the creator with three colors to use in conjunction with black, white, and other neutral colors. Now the best thing about these kinds of challenges is it gets you to think outside the box for card creation. It might get you to use a product in a different way or use bold colors. I watch Amy R (Prairie Paper & Ink) on YouTube a lot and see her use the Color Throwdown challenge as inspiration all the time so I thought I’d give this one a try.

Color Throwndown Challenge 467

Thank You Card for the Color Throwdown Challenge 467

I used the Concord & 9th Fill-in Blooms stamp set.  It is a multi-step stamp set but it isn’t multiple layers.  The background image leaves white space to stamp the flowers and greenery with the coordinating stamps.  This stamp set definitely makes for a quick card.

I stamped the berries and flowers in the same redish color.  Then I stamped the leaves and other blue flowers.  I wanted a bit more texture so I added some colored pencil details.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink on black cardstock.  I used white embossing powder and heat set the powder.  Then I cut the strip out using a banner die from My Favorite Things.

Add a few sequins and some silver thread to finish things off.

The colors were inspired (of course) by the Color Throwdown challenge blog.  You can use whatever brand of ink you have on hand.
