I’m going to be very honest. I struggled with these cards. Between a virus, allergies, and laryngitis, it has been a rough few months. But I did make them in fun and sometimes funny cards that I hope give you some different ideas for using these large stitched letters from Spellbinders. Also, I wanted to see what cards I could create with what I had on hand that I hadn’t used in a long time. And I found some goodies that I hope you’ll love too.

Stitched Letters by Spellbinders Cat Lady

Our lovely lady here is a stamp from Art Impressions. And one day it’ll be me…the crazy cat lady. You know what? That’s perfectly acceptable. LOL! The stitched letters have the letter and a the outline. The outline is cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers to match the dress. I had wrote the “is for” and used a stamp from the stamp set to finish the sentiment for the front of the card. Our fancy cat lady is colored in Copic markers as well as the background. I used the blending zero marker to create the super soft edge that blends out into the white side of the card.

Stitched Letters by Spellbinders Z pattern

There was something about this Z shape that made me think of a pattern background. Instead of stitching on these letters I added black gems that fit perfectly just inside of the outside row of stitching holes. This card measures 4.25″ square. The printed background paper is some washi tape I put into rows on cream cardstock. Then, I die cut two letters and two backgrounds. I mixed in some kraft cardstock, black cards, a fun distressed background stamp in Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and a little bit of Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I love this little card that can be used for anything at all.

Stitched Letters by Spellbinders Prayers

From time to time we have to send cards with a simple message because there just aren’t any words. Prayers is that word for me. I found an alphabet stamp set from Concord & 9th that I hadn’t used in a long while. I stamped all of the letters in black pigment ink then heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Don’t be scared of that stuff. I looks amazing! Then I inked pinks and blues to create that beautiful halo around the letters. The splatters are a mixture of black liquid watercolor and mica powder mixed with water. The stitched letter P is stitched with silver thread. The background is a pearl cardstock that is so pretty in person. Finally, I trimmed down black cardstock into 1/8″ inch strips and added them to one side and along the bottom.

Stitched Letters by Spellbinders The Letter Stands Alone

A simple card with a simple letter on the front. Make is a total surprise for what is inside. Or make it for the first letter of their last name. Or make it for the first letter of all the sentiments stamped on the inside of the card such as good, grace, greetings, etc. This card design is simple. I used the Solid Circle Gimmer Foil Plate to foil pearl in the upper middle of the pool blue cardstock panel. Then I cut a gunmetal gray strip that’s 1/4″ to put straight across the center of the circle. The outline of the letter is a peachy metallic cardstock and the letter is heavy weight white cardstock.

Stitched Letters by Spellbinders Fabulous

And my final card is not stitched at all. I let the letter stand out on the front of the rainbow foiled background. I did stack several letters together and used clear embossing powder to give it some shine. Then, I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Rectangle Glimmer Foiling Plate, to foil specialty background paper with DecoFoil. I had a simple sentiment beside it.

I hope you enjoyed all of these different ideas for using the stitched letters by Spellbinders on your cards.
