Hey! Today we’re making a very simple slimline card using the colors from this week’s challenge over at Make the Cards Challenge.

The finished card size is 3.75″ x 8.50″. I’m not sure there’s a consistent slimline card size at this point. That’s what size I like to use.

First, ink blend starting with the darkest orange color using ink blending brushes. I applied the ink pretty heavily. Then, move to the next color. Be sure to blend back and forth between the two colors by over lapping them slightly.

The slimline frame is a SVG cut file. It’s cut from white cardstock and sprayed with a pink shimmer mist. Nope! The sprayer on the bottle didn’t work so the frame was painted with a brush. Those darn sprayers break all the time.

Next, die cut several sizes of butterflies from black and white cardstock. Layer the black behind the white slightly offset. Glue the centers of each butterfly together but not the wings.

Finally, glue the frame down to the ink blended background and add the butterflies. As a final touch, add orange sequins or jewels.

I hope you enjoyed this quick card and hope over to the challenge and join us!
