Flip Card Inspired by a Song
Hello! It’s so good to get back to making cards and sharing with y’all! Today I am sharing a flip card inspired by a song. Seriously!
Growing up my Mom listened to Carole King and anytime I listen to Carole King I think of my mom. So when I opened the Before ‘n After Trees stamp set by Lawn Fawn, I instantly heard the song “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King in my head. because of the sentiments “winter spring summer fall” in the stamp set. I knew I had to create a card with the song lyrics on it. The Flippin’ Awesome Lawn Cuts die set made this card come true!
All of the products used are linked at the bottom of this post.
It’s been a long while since I was able to Copic color so I kept the coloring simple on these small images. I still added shading and some detail to the trees but still kept things easy.
I used patterned papers from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Spring 2019 collection. These plaids add a bit of whimsy to the overall design of the card.
The green plaid in the very background is a stamp from Catherine Pooler stamped in Bamboo ink from Altenew. Not surprisingly, the green ink matched perfectly.
This flip card is SUPER easy to put together! I was shocked by how easy it really is. The video is the very first time I put the card together.
See! Super duper easy! I know flip cards have been around for a long time but I never made one before just because it was so much measuring. Lawn Fawn removed the guesswork and made this card so easy to create. I’m really impressed by well thought out this die set really is.
Below are the individual panels for each of the flip sections.
I finished the front of the flip card inspired by a song with the song lyrics. I found the “you’ve got a friend” stamp in my stash from a WPlus9 set. (This is why I have a searchable inventory of my stamps so I can find sentiments I need. Check out that info in this blog post.)
A few tips for making this card:
- Fold the scored lines in both directions. It makes the flips easier.
- Decorate the panels before you adhere them to the flip base.
- Use really strong double-sided adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed this card! Big inky hugs until next time!
