There is a beautiful zentangle heart stamp in the December Hedgehog Hollow kit that is just beautiful! I used that stamp to create this card for my project this week.

When I opened this kit the first thing I noticed was the floral heart and the detail in it!  It is so pretty and the perfect size to create a statement card like this one.

The first thing I did was to stamp the heart on watercolor paper using Versamark ink.  I used bright white embossing powder to emboss the image.  Then, I pulled out my Altenew pan watercolor set and water brushes (and a medium round paintbrush).  I used the wet on wet technique to add color without hard lines.

I added a base color of a warm pink and dried that layer of color with my heat tool. I wet outside of the heart just slightly all the way around it and pulled some of the color into opposite corners of the paper.

Then I added various shades of pinks and purples to different areas of the heart.  I added clean clear water with a regular paintbrush into the specific area I was working on.  I dried between the application of each color.

Also, I used the regular paintbrush to add clear water to edges of the color so that it blends off into the paper a little bit more.

For the sentiment, I stamped it in Versamark ink then used black embossing powder over the stamped image.  I stamped and embossed it twice so the image would be really dark and raised.  Then I used the PixScan Mat and my Silhouette Cameo to die cut the sentiment out.

There are some adorable hearts included in this set and I stamped those in a dark pink ink then stamped them in Versamark ink so I could use Silver Pearl Embossing Powder.  So pretty!

Lastly, I added some jewel drops and that wraps up this card!

Thanks for joining me today!  Don’t forget to head over to the Hedgehog Hollow shop to get your kit.
