Copic Coloring with Concord and 9th
Howdy! Today I’m working on getting back in the groove of Copic coloring and I’m using some Concord & 9th stamps to create a one layer card.
I haven’t been able to do much Copic coloring in the last 6 months or so. What’s the one thing you need when you’re getting back in the groove of something? Practice! I decided that I would share my progress with you. It’s kind of like riding a bike; you don’t forget how but you’re a little wobbly when you first get on. I’m still a little wobbly.
Creating a one layer card doesn’t have to be scary. I picked out some simple images from the Daily Wear stamp set by Concord & 9th as my focal point. I stamped those images first. I also stamped the same images on some masking paper. While I was working with the masking paper, I drew out and cut a lamp.
I used a t-square ruler and a journaling pen to create the horizon line and a window frame. The horizon line gives depth to the panel. Putting the lamp and the window behind the girl also adds depth to the scene.
If you look at each element individually, they aren’t all that pretty. The lampshade is a little distracting and the lamp base is a little too wide. The things outside of the window are just ugly. BUT together all of these things make a really cute card! I can be super critical of my card or I can appreciate that together the card panel is very pretty!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video!
