Big Bold MERRY SVG Sentiment for Christmas Cards
Today we are using a big bold Merry SVG sentiment for our Christmas cards. These giant bold sentiments that fill the entire card front are super popular right now. These cards are simple, yet bold. Don’t worry, I have dies linked at the bottom for my non-digital users. Plus a few ideas along the way.
The ‘Merry’ SVG used for these cards is the FREEBIE for my email subscribers.
If you don’t want to sign up for the JCC Newsletter but still want the SVG you can get it here.
I created these cards as if I were using a die. I cut the individual letters three times and stacked them up. The outline layer is white and cut once. I used slightly darker reds and greens to give these a little more classic look.
For the background on the A2 card I used an embossing folder just to create a little bit of texture. Then I coated all of the letters in glitter pen.
I used a stamp for Christmas in white embossing powder to finish it off.
You can simply this card by cutting the top layer of letters just once. That makes this kind of card super simple to reproduce quickly. Die cut everything first then assemble.
This card isn’t as plain as it looks in the pictures. I don’t know of any embossing folders for slimline cards yet so I heat embossed some snowflakes across the top of the card base. There are really snowflakes embossed across the top in white embossing powder. I promise! I couldn’t get it to show up in the pictures no matter what I did. Oh! The frustration!
The sentiment is done the same way as the first card. I added three dots of glitter glue drops right above the thin sentiment strip to finish it off.
Now, I know that using a Silhouette or Cricut isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so I’ve found a few dies that will give you similar results for an A2 card. Those are linked at the bottom of the post.
What if you don’t have a Silhouette or Cricut and you don’t have dies similar to the ones linked below but you really like the look? Do you have a set of alphabet dies? Use those to create the sentiment you want. You can even do this with large alphabet stamps if you don’t have dies.
