Today we are creating an alcohol ink background and then stamping a pattern with alcohol lift ink. We’re keeping in mind our new challenge this week for Make the Cards Challenge too. Check it out and join us.

I kept this card pretty simple so that background would really stand out. I have some tips about using Alcohol Lift Ink.
- Allow ample time for the alcohol ink background to dry. It makes a difference.
- Ink the stamp with the Alcohol Lift Ink liberally.
- Stamp the image more than once for more definition.
- Press a piece of cardstock to the background to life even more ink off. Do this while the Alcohol Lift Ink is still wet.
- Allow the Alcohol Lift Ink to dry before handling it too much or it will smear.
Also, to get really good results with Alcohol Lift Ink, use darker colors and lots of ink.
To create the alcohol ink background I used several colors of blue on a wet piece of Yupo paper. Then, I used the Tim Holtz blower to move the inks around the paper until they blended. Sit the project aside to dry while you make the rest of the card.
For the rest of the card, I stamped the succulent in green and the pot in a pretty brown and die cut them with the coordinating dies. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. It’s stamped in Versamark with black embossing powder.
Once the background is dry, stamp the background in the Alcohol Lift Ink and then die cut with a smaller stitched rectangle frame. I glued it down towards the bottom right corner of the white panel.
I created a bow with some small twine and added a few small dots of black. Then, I popped up the sentiment and that finished this card off.
