AECP Ink Blending Lesson
Today we are looking at Ink Blending in the Altenew Education Certification Program. Ink blending is an easy way to add color, drama, and depth to your cards.
Ink Blending
What exactly is ink blending? It’s adding ink to cardstock using a sponge or brush. Ink blending is a very simple technique but it does take a little bit of practice to get smooth results. I recommend trying a few different tools and a few different kinds of inks.
For this card, I used Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feather. I like the Domed Sponges from Scrapbook.com instead of the flat ink blending sponges. They don’t leave marks on the paper and blend out to nothing very easily.
I also splattered water on the ink blending to give it more texture. You can also add a touch of stenciling or even emboss resist to add more texture to the ink blended area.
I stamped a flower and leaves from the Peony Scroll stamp set. I used Altenew’s Artist Markers to color in the flower. The sentiment is from the Dearest Friends stamp set. It’s black heat embossed.
I hope you enjoyed this card and how simply beautiful it is.
