Howdy everyone! I’m working on Level Two of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. This card is for the class In the Mood for Color. This class looks at color a little differently in that it’s about creating a mood with colors. My favorite color is purple so that’s the color I picked.

Watch this video to see how the beautiful card is created. All of the supplies are listed at the bottom of this post.

What does the color purple mean? It is said to evoke creativity, intuitiveness, and peace. Traditionally it was used by royals because purple dye was so expensive. So it’s also associated with wealth and riches.

First, I used watercolor to paint different colors of purple. I just created wide stripes of color and blended them together. Then I dried the watercolor paper completely with my heat tool. You can also let it air dry.

Next, I used the dies from A Study in Watercolor and cut out two images. I glued those directly to the front of a side folding A2 card.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in a coordinating purple and added Nuvo Drops in various places all over the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and give it try with your favorite color.
